I have always loved the mountains, the fresh air, the smell
of pine and fir. In my childhood, I spent weekends with my father hiking
the trails of the Northwest. To capture those images, at the age of 8,
I used my first camera, my Kodak Brownie. I feel so fortunate to have spent
most of my life in the beautiful Northwest, where the seasonal changes
offer so many images to behold.
My travels to foreign countries have given me many opportunities to take photographs
on these journeys. These trips have taken me to Nepal, Peru, Morocco, Parts of
Africa, Italy and Turkey; the images are a reminder that the world has so much
to offer - to experience, the sights and sounds of which can be so very different
from our American life.
Photography is my passion - and is only fulfilled when I feel I have caught
the moment. So whether it is the seasons of life or the seasons of nature,
the image is there waiting - Waiting for me. Fall - Winter - Spring - People
- Places - these are the themes that run through my life. My photography is
available at my gallery, Miller Fine Arts Gallery, which also features original
arts and crafts from other North Central Washington Artists.
