Now that I have retired from a retail business in the Bavarian town
of Leavenworth, WA, I have been able to travel much more easily. I
have enjoyed being quite serious about photography since the early
80s, and for a period of time was a professional portrait and wedding
photographer. Now I design web pages for a number of businesses in
Leavenworth and beyond! I write tutorials for web developers who use both FrontPage and Dreamweaver, trying to help them with using photos on their sites, building photo galleries etc. That's why you'll find so much variety in the presentation of the site's pages ... many are experiments or examples for the tutorials. I now use the Canon Digital Rebel SLR with interchangeable zoom lenses and a depth of field preview button! These are wonderful capabilities which many of us gave up when we ventured into digital imaging.. Now, as soon as the shot has been made you can view the histogram to check the exposure and immediately shoot the photo again if necessary. Luckily it came with a 1 Gig card and great batteries so it seems that I can take a gazillion photos using all kinds of bracketing, compositions etc. with no more worries about running out of 'digital' film or power. The only draw back on my next trip is that my laptop won't have enough space ... there are always CDs to put them on though! Artist's Statement |
