Ruth E. Allan is an artist and professional potter whose
work
has been published and collected throughout the world.
Supportive family and friends have made her art meaningful.
She has a Masters of Fine Arts in painting and design with
more than 35 years experience in pottery, painting, teaching,
and museum exhibits. She has taught many specialty saggar
fire pottery workshops and was guest Artist in Residence 1997
at the Hap Pottery in Beijing, P.R. China. She occasionally
teaches pottery on the Princess Luxury Cruise Lines. A Washington State native, she grew up on a small farm
surrounded by the magnificence of Puget Sound. She was
encouraged to follow her passion to observe, draw, and paint
the scenery and living things in the woodlands near Mukilteo.
Creating and viewing art has been an imperative all through
life. And art is always dessert. Currently, she markets a line of unique wheel thrown and
hand polished porcelain clay vases that are saggar fired. Subtle
but spectacular, these vessels are made to bring a spirit similar
to that of sunrises and nature to bless the viewer with an
abundance of inspiring, positive energy.
